Road map for eSafety deployment discussed in Brussels

The Implementation Road Map Working Group under the eSafety Forum organised a workshop in Brussels 14 November 2007 where strategies for eSafety deployment were discussed.

Mr Fabrizio Minarini from the European Commission mentioned in his opening speech the positive impact of the ChooseESC! campaign as the campaign has constituted an important part of the awareness pillar of the European Commission Intelligent Car Initiative. The audience had the opportunity throughout the day to follow presentations of good practice examples to support eSafety take up and could bring home ideas on which safety technologies we will see deployed in the vehicle of the near future. One conclusion from the event was that the short life span of the latest technologies will create further challenges for the stakeholders when trying to match these technologies with the far longer life span of the vehicles hosting the technologies.
