New eSafetyAware President Jean Todt to attend Chinese ESC event |
On 16 April 2009, eSafetyAware and the Chinese Ministry of Transport (MOT) will launch a national ESC campaign at MOT's Proving Ground for Highway and Traffic in Beijing. The launch will be attended by Jean Todt, President of eSafetyAware, and Global Road Safety Ambassador Michelle Yeoh.
The ESC campaign is part of the National Road Safety Action Programme launched recently by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), and the Ministry of Transport (MOT), and aims to raise awareness of Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and increase the take-up of this life-saving technology.
The launch event featured: • ESC live demonstrations with Chinese Rally Champion Jin Gang • Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between China and Europe on deployment of ESC in China • Release of a new Chinese end-user study on eSafety • Presentation of the national road safety strategy • International speeches on the contribution of eSafety campaigning to global road safety |
