The ESC Symposium took place in Brussels 1 July 2008 where experts in road and vehicle safety discussed progress and challenges for deployment of road safety technologies. At the same time a special exhibition was organised to showcase the latest developments in road safety technologies.

The main goal of the Symposium was to discuss the final steps needed to reach the goal of a 100% ESC penetration rate, discuss the ESC deployment experiences of Europe, Australia, Canada, and the United States, and review options to advance the rollout of Electronic Stability Control.
The event featured:

· Best practise examples of national campaigns and showcases on how to promote ESC
· Release of a new EU wide ESC availability survey by the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP)
