
The functioning and safety benefits of ESC where presented to EU Transport Ministers at their informal meeting in Litomerice/CZ on 29 April 2009. The presentation took place during the offical launch of the eSafety on Board exhibtion which is sponsored by the European Commission, FIA Foundation and eSafetyAware.
The visit was part of the official agenda of the ministerial meeting hosted by the Czech Presidency. The guests - 33 ministerial delegations and the Vice President of the European Commission, Antonio Tajani - were welcomed by eSafetyAware Secretary General, Mr. Jacob Bangsgaard and the President of UAMK, Mr. Oldrich Vanicek who explained the Ministers about the initiative and the importance of promoting eSafety technologies to the European consumers.


Commissioner Antonio Tajani and the Spanish State Secretary for Transport, Ms. Concepción Gutiérrez del Castillo got first hand experience of the ESC simulator, with the other ministers enjoying the demonstration from the side. The event was followed by a photo session with the Ministers in front of the eSafety truck. The visit was concluded with Commissioner Tajani’s appraisal of the eSafetyAware initiative as one that “paves the way for eSafety deployment in Europe”.
The eSafety truck presented eSafety information material on Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Lane Support Systems, Blind Spot Monitoring, Warning and Emergency Braking Systems and Speed Alert. The exhibition was also open to the public and attracted many visitors eager to try out the ESC simulator and get information on eSafety technologies. The eSafety On Board exhibition in Litomerice was co hosted by the Czech Automobile Club (UAMK). |
