Commission publishes contributions from ESC consultation

In August 2007, the European Commission launched an internet consultation to seek the stakeholders views on an outline proposal for a new Regulation on Advanced Safety Features and Tyres. The proposals included the replacement of most existing safety-related type-approval Directives with one Regulation, the introduction of new requirements for tyres, including limits for noise and rolling resistance, and new proposals for advanced safety systems including Electronic Stability Control and Automatic Emergency Braking Systems.

The European Commission received in total 81 replies where 13 of the contributions came from eSafetyAware! members.
